Diagnostic Trade Integration Study (DTIS) 2015
DTIS update N/A
WTO accession 1995

In Bangladesh, EIF is working to familiarize stakeholders on the importance of trade for inclusive, sustainable growth and poverty reduction. EIF provides a platform for local officials and development partners to discuss trade development, as well as providing a coordination forum for capacity building on trade mainstreaming.

MOU 27/11/15
Budget 300'000
End date 27/11/18

EIF is working to strengthen national institutional capacity and develop human resources for mainstreaming trade into the national development plan, as well as supporting the country's deeper integration into the global trading system.

  • Analytical work undertaken provides inputs for trade policy as well as for Bangladesh's seventh five‑year plan. Recommendations are centered on four pillars including: breaking into new markets; breaking into new products; improving worker and consumer welfare; and building a supportive environment.
  • Trade analytics are linked to Bangladesh's Comprehensive Trade Policy, developed with the support of the European Union and used to guide the Government and donors on trade policy implementation.
  • The Diagnostic Trade Integration Study is serving as a basis for mainstreaming trade into the overall development strategy and the relevant line ministries.
